Consensus is considered a valued virtue. Yet, one needs to be aware it tends to lead us to ‘uninspired compromises’, that could adversely impact a Scale-up journey.

With smart leaders and managers sitting around the table with own opinions and logical arguments, a consensus may seem a good idea; it may even seem to make everyone happy. But the flip side is that it could make no-one inspired enough!

Usually, the path so chosen may tend to be most risk-averse and conservative.

As a CEO, it’s important to make right decisions, not necessarily the most popular ones.
