A reality CEOs often encounter is the short-term business and environmental exigencies – forcing them to fix the ‘urgent’ and delay ‘the important’. Over time, this quietly shapes, and often limits, the long-term outcomes.

Needless to say the ‘urgent’ attracts attention, causing fear, anxiety, uncertainty.

To elevate their impact, CEOs need to be deliberate with their focus on long-term aspects, on a daily basis. Else, it may amount to trading long-term potential for short-term safety / gains.
