Why is it important for the CEOs to be ‘Aware’?

Are you overthinking a decision? Or you’re avoiding the conversation that comes after it?

For example a difficult conversation with a co-founder, or a CXO. The inevitable restructuring that you’ll have to decide and execute. The person you’ll have to let go.

So you wait. You gather more data. You schedule another review. You tell yourself you need more clarity.

Meanwhile, your team senses the hesitation. Momentum stalls. Trust quietly erodes.

What looks like indecision is often something deeper – such as:
– Fear of going wrong.
– Perfectionism, waiting for certainty (which is elusive anyway!).
– Emotional discomfort
– Fear of criticism.
– Fear of losing respect.
– Insecurity dressed up as caution.

In 13 years of coaching 200+ CEOs, I’ve seen this pattern again and again. The decision itself is rarely the problem. It’s the uncomfortable aftermath that holds leaders back.

That’s the real challenge. You can’t discuss this with your team; they need you to be decisive. You can’t take it to your family; they may not understand the stakes.

You need someone outside your ecosystem. Someone with no vested interest in your decision. A thinking partner who has navigated similar waters, who can help you simplify, weigh the pros and cons without bias, and who can help you see through things clearly.

Timely decisions don’t require perfection. They require leadership presence and clarity.

If you’re a CEO sitting on a decision right now, let’s talk.
Because CEOs deserve a Coach!
